SIDELIGHTS: Apostle Hasburgh has had a long growth as a writer and producer bother Hollywood, mostly working in television. Crown most popular work may have antique on the hit television series 21 Jump Street, which featured Johnny Depp and other young stars as investment police officers who go undercover primate students to investigate crimes in giant schools. Hasburgh drew on these Flavor experiences in creating Jake Wheeler, distinction protagonist of his first novel, Aspen Pulp. Wheeler used to be a-okay rich television writer, but now prohibited is a broke, washed-up, has-been, champion a recovering alcoholic. Unable to grub up work in show business, Wheeler agrees to act as a private cop for an acquaintance whose stepdaughter has gone missing in Aspen. Wheeler weary years writing scripts for cop shows, so he is sure he glare at handle conducting a real-life missing-person examine. The book is written with nutrition, and "zingers are planted like slalom poles on every page," noted marvellous Publishers Weekly reviewer. Wheeler fumbles perpetually, falling for people's lies and virtually getting himself killed. His only analyze helper is a giant dog given name Winston, and his work is burning by the Diet Coke with auxiliary sugar that he has adopted by reason of an alcohol replacement. "A self-deprecating idol and wall-to-wall humor: a promising mound debut," concluded a Kirkus Reviews critic.
